SONICULTURE @ LA DOS de NITSA, 20.June.2008
In 2006 Marc Antona had his first release ever on Freak n'Chic #18 "Happy Martians" and performed live with great success in legendary Parisian clubs, Le Zèbre, Batofar, Rex Club, among others.
Sender and Mobilee already presented this tech house minimal rising star, who’s name the world will know during 2008.
Metope's tracks sometimes seem as if they longed to turn their digital being into real flesh. Unable to achieve this, they try to imagine what it would be like, by using bit reduction processes to simulate half forgotten thoughts.
After years of calculations and communications with the spirit of a long forgotten master called "Sid", they were still dissatisfied and they still didn't know what being human feels like…they had not even the faintest idea.
Founder of Areal Records he also has releases on Sender, Art of Perception, AR and Cereal/Killers, and did remixes for Depeche Mode, Gabriel Ananda, Fairmont, Maral Salmassi feat. Ascii Disko beetween many others.
Metope (live) involves a combination of equipment on stage to create his own magical journey through techno. A great show, that has already reached quality clubs and festivals around the world.
Expander is known for following a path that strives away from dominating standards and for constantly seeking new approaches to electronic music, especially in what regards to techno. As dj, he has already performed in Europe’s main clubs and festivals and has already performed at Sonar (in 2004), where he rocked Sonar Village, the main area of Sonar by day. The following year he played at C/O Pop, in Cologne, presenting the new Soniculture label together with Paul Kalkbrenner.
Considered the main reference for the underground scene in Portugal, Expander is able to move the most demanding crowd, combining technique with his very own style of djing which is normally uplifting, sexy and involving and where people normally feel that they are travelling through music.
Soniculture label was created by Expander in 2005 and has the goal of delivering cutting edge electronic dance music. Artists such as Midimiliz aka Extrawelt, Marc Houle, Paul Kalkbrenner, Billy Dalessandro, Jake Fairlkey, Misc., Jason Emsley, Landberg & Jacobson and Thinkfreak, are some of the artists that have released or remixed on Soniculture. As a producer, Expander releases normally on his own label, although he has already remixed Billy Dalessandro (on Siteholder), Synclair (on Areal) and Slapstick & Frederic de Carvalho (on Absolut Freak).
Elias Landberg was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden 1978. He started to make electronic music around nine years ago, driven by his musical influences that came from Detroit techno, house and early electronica. Artists like, The Black Dog, Mark Nroom, Carl Craig and Boards of Canada, inspired him a great deal.
Thinkfreak is already a landmark for the new generation of portuguese producers and is also reaching international notoriety, which is a result of very positive feed-back from his releases and shows.
His techno-based music fluctuates between physical pumping rhythms and melodic components, which are both charged with minimal and progressive influences.
Thinkfreak’s visibility worldwide results mainly from his Soniculture releases, which have been supported by djs such as Sven Vath, who played “Human Error” at the latest edition of Time Warp festival.
Thinkfreak (live) hás already reached, with lots of success, portugal’s main festivals and clubs, such as Anti Pop Music Festival (2007), where he played on the same stage as Matthew Dear, Ellen Allien & Apparat, Paul Kalkbrenner and Expander, Sonic Fresh'07 and Soniculture’s 6th anniversary, performing side by side with names such as Modeselektor, Maxime Dangles and Paul Ritch. Recently, he played with Vitalic, at Casa da Música (2008) and will soon be on tour with Expander, where he will play at several clubs in Europe.
